The two-year, $19.1 million construction project will be discussed from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Department of Transportation office at 1010 21st Ave. NW in Owatonna.

Representatives from the contractor, Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye, as well as the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project.

This year, southbound I-35 lanes will be closed and traffic will be crossed over to use single lane traffic in northbound lanes on I-35. Traffic may use detours when ramps are closed during this year’s work. Overall, the project involves the replacement of four bridges and the replacement of pavement in the northbound and southbound lanes.

A multiyear project allows traffic to continue to flow on I-35, a key interstate highway for commerce, tourism and regular regional north-south traffic that sees more than 34,000 vehicles daily.

The public is invited Wednesday to discuss the Medford roundabout project from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Medford School auditorium.

The six-week, $833,000 project will reconstruct the roundabouts at Medford off Exit 48 on I-35 north of Owatonna. Traffic will follow detours to access businesses, restaurants, hotels and other sites. The project is expected to be complete in July.

Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project.
