Woman cited after slapping nurse

Albert Lea police cited Judith Favis-Baluyut Santos, 46, for fifth-degree assault at 11:45 a.m. Thursday after she reportedly assaulted a nurse practitioner at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson said Santos initially called dispatchers because she was not happy with the service she was receiving. Before police arrived, she reportedly slapped the practitioner.

 

Hit-and-run reported

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:35 a.m. Thursday at 1119 S. Broadway.
