The Albert Lea Cantori, a choral ensemble, will begin its new season in August, according to a press release.
The Cantori sings at least two concerts a year in November and April. Singers from Albert Lea and the surrounding areas have been singing choral works for over 40 years. The music ranges from renaissance to contemporary, sacred to secular and lighter works.
The mission of the Albert Lea Cantori is to foster and share the art of choral music through the pursuit of choral excellence in repertoire and performance.
The Cantori is looking for singers to join the ensemble.
Open auditions for placement will be held for all sections at 7 p.m. Monday for bass and baritone, 7 p.m. Tuesday for sopranos and tenors and 7 p.m. June 10 for altos.
All auditions will be at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
New singers will be asked to fill out a brief music information sheet, sing a short song or hymn along with a group placement for range and blend.
It is helpful if those auditioning read music, but it is not required. Contact Eileen Nelson Ness at 507-377-2075 to register for an audition.
