Beverly Treanor, 1923-2014

Beverly (Jane Hope) Bradley Treanor died May 8, 2014, at her home in Edmonds, Wash. She was 90 years-old.

She was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Sept. 22, 1923, the only daughter of Ralph A. and Claudia S. Bradley.

Beverly joined the U.S. Navy’s WAVES at the start of World War II and served six years, during which she rose to the rank of chief petty officer as a storekeeper at Quonset Naval Base, R.I.

On her discharge, she attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1950.

She met her husband, Dr. Thomas A. Treanor, while attending the university. They married in August 1950, shortly before he began medical school, also at Syracuse University. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, of Edmonds; their four children and their families, Karen Treanor-Brown of Eugene, Ore.; Thomas Treanor Jr. of Twin Falls, Idaho; Cheryl Arford of Edmonds and Wynne Kvenvold of Harvard, Mass.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Her brothers Robert Bradley and Richard Bradley predeceased her.

A private family memorial is planned, with interment at River View Cemetery in Portland, Ore. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, Box 80807, Billings, MT, 59108-0807.
