WASHINGTON — A bipartisan congressional delegation is spending Memorial Day visiting troops overseas.
A spokesman for Georgia Rep. John Barrow said Monday that the congressman is part of a delegation led by Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann. Barrow’s spokesman, Richard Carbo, said the group includes Florida Democrat Patrick Murphy, Oklahoma Republican Markwayne Mullin, New York Democrat Sean Maloney, and Texas Democrat Pete Gallego.
Carbo said that for security reasons, the group’s whereabouts are being kept confidential until their visit is over.
Barrow, a Democrat, represents Georgia’s 12th District which covers nearly 20 counties and includes the cities of Augusta, Statesboro, Dublin and Vidalia.
