Every year, the Albert Lea Chamber of Commerce aims to raise $16,000 to fund the Fourth of July fireworks. This year, with their fundraiser collection on the corners on Main and Broadway on Friday, they raised $15,400.

Geri Jensen, administrative assistant, said this was the total just from the downtown collection. The chamber also puts up collection buckets around Freeborn County. With those two totals, Jensen said that they will more than likely meet their goal.

The chamber has been doing this fundraiser for years, and Jensen said that it always has had a good response. It funds an approximately 30-minute fireworks show.
