Lawrence R. Petersen “Pete”, 82, of Apple Valley, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away May 19, 2014.

Pete served his country in the U.S. Navy and was the owner and operator of Pete’s Welding in Albert Lea.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ane and P. Miller Petersen; sisters Edith Nelson, Gerda Stearns and Mary Ann Storry; and son, Kerry Petersen.

He is survived by his children LaChelle (Robert) Petzer and Rick Petersen; four grandchildren, Noah (Michelle) Ellis, Tiffany (Brandon) Black, Ethan Petzer and Cory (Christine) Petersen; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home Chapel, 14560 Pennock Ave. in Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
