Updated: Phone service restored to Manchester, Hartland and Freeborn

Three communities in Freeborn County were without access to landline phone services — including 911 services — for about seven hours on Friday after a fiber cable was reportedly severed outside of Freeborn.
The cut did not affect cell phone services.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office stated it received a call at 3:20 p.m. from Manchester-Hartland Telephone Co. about the situation.
It affected Manchester, Hartland and Freeborn.
The Sheriff’s Office sent out a news release at 10:56 p.m. stating the service was restored.
