The fifth annual Armed Forces Day World War II Weekend will be May 17 and 18.

Events will be from 10 a.m. to 6 pm May 17 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18 at Dakota City Heritage Village, next to the Dakota County Fairgrounds, 4008 220th St. in West Farmington.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Normandy campaign. The events included detail Normandy-themed battles, homefront civilian life,  weapons demonstrations, World War II military vehicles, civilian automobiles and tractors, authentic military displays, field hospital demonstrations and displays, authors and a veterans and military swap meet.

Food and drinks will be available .

Admission is $7 with a nonperishable food item and $9 without.

Children under 7 and World War II Veterans are free.
