Paul Sulentic, 1936-2014

Memorial services for Paul Richard Sulentic of Albert Lea will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at a later date will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.

Paul died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his home in Albert Lea. He was 77 years of age.

Paul was born July 7, 1936, in Waterloo, the son of Pete and Olga (Klepich) Sulentic. He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1954. He then went to work for the Rath Packing Co., leaving for a four-year stint in the Army then returning to Rath. Paul then went to work for the Wilson & Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, then with Wilson & Co. in Des Moines. On Sept. 24, 1966, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Railsback in Waterloo. Together they moved to Albert Lea in 1975 where he continued to work for Wilson & Co.

Paul was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and the Albert Lea VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and anything outdoors.

Paul is survived by his children Paulette (Randy) Redenius and their daughter Theresa of Farmington, David Sulentic and his children Alexis and Samuel of La Crosse, Wis. Other survivors include sister Michalle (Ron) Geisler of Waterloo and sister Kay Bruner of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane, in 2013; brother; Tony Sulentic; and sister, Barb Sullivan.
