RED LAKE — A 10-hour standoff has ended on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota.
A SWAT team and other law enforcement officials responded Friday to a report of shots fired on the reservation.
FBI spokesman Kyle Loven said late Friday afternoon that the situation has been “resolved” but would not give details.
Reports say two Red Lake police officers responded to several disturbance calls shortly before 5 a.m. One was a 911 call. When officers heard the sound of rifles inside the home they backed away and took cover behind vehicles. Shots were fired and one officer was hit by shrapnel, but no one was seriously hurt.
Red Lake police said seven people were in the home. Eventually two remained and were forced out with tear gas.
