BURNSVILLE — Minnesota transportation officials are once again urging motorists to exercise caution in highway work zones after a crash injured two workers, including one critically.
The accident happened on Interstate 35 Sunday afternoon in an area where crews have been building a dike to divert flood water in Burnsville. The two workers were placing traffic cones to mark lane closures when a vehicle struck a state Department of Transportation truck.
Reports said one worker, a 43-year-old Camplin man, is in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center. The other worker, a 57-year-old from Rockford, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
