Combat soldiers don’t act like that

Last Sunday night I was watching “The Kelly File” on Fox News. She had those six soldiers that were in the Bowe Bergdahl unit on. All six were asked if they were a POW, and if a trade for them was going to take place for those five enemy combatants, what would they do? They all said they would stay and remain being a POW. If you believe this, I have a bridge in Arizona to sell you.
Those six received their 15 minutes of fame for being on Fox News. This is the typical information you get off of Fox News. Fox News will broadcast anything if it makes President Barack Obama look bad. If you have ever talked to someone who has actually seen real combat, they will tell you they would never get up on national television and talk about one of their own the way these six did. If you are in real combat, your mind set is very different than it is when you’re walking the streets back home.
I remember talking to a fellow soldier who told me about walking down the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Vietnam. He was telling me how he walked by a buddy of his that had been blown up. His body was all black, and he couldn’t hardly recognize him. His buddy in front of him asked him how he’d like a piece of him. He said, “No, I don’t think so. He’s too well done for me.”
This is a good example on how you have a different mind set if you are in real combat. It’s so easy to sit back here and judge someone who is in combat. It really irks me when I hear from someone who has never spent any time in the service to judge a person like Bergdahl. I would guess he is going to be discharged and that the time he spent being a POW will be his punishment for whatever he is found guilty of.
I wish him and his family the best. Remember, don’t ever believe anything you hear on Fox News. It’s all lies.
