Glenville Days returns with 3 days of family fun

GLENVILLE — Glenville Days is returning again this year over a three-day span.

Many events from years past are returning, just in a different order than before.

The festival begins June 13 with softball and bean bag tournaments and DJ Grizzly Sound on the Main Street Stage.

June 14 will be filled with park activities, a dodgeball tournament by the tennis court and a street dance near Main Street stage. The Chris Hawkey Band will play at the street dance. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The River Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. at Glenville Park. Registration costs $8 and starts at 7 a.m. Kids games and activities such as face painting, clowns, ring toss, inflatables and rock climbing will be available in the park. Pickleball will be at the high school between 1 and 4 p.m. There will be a parade as well and the Little King and Queen Contest.

The 2014 contestants for the contest are Jaydn Stuart, Sophie Struck, Lauren Schuhmacher, Bailey Thorson, Daniel Short, Akaylah Flatness, Karson Eilertson, Ian Anderson, Georgia Schul, Ava Williamson, Max Fredrickson, Chloe Kalvig and Joseph Petersen.

This year the food vendors will be Tailgator’s, Taco King and Mozes Gyros.

The festival ends June 15 with a community church service at 9 a.m. at Methodist Church.

• Lunch in the park, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Smiley train, face painting, hairdos, clown, ring toss, inflatable jumpers, rock climbing, bovine bingo and football toss, 11 a.m., park

• Big Ben & the Brians, noon, park

• Bingo, 1 p.m., park

• Pickleball, 1 p.m., high school gym

• Dodgeball tournament, 1:30 p.m., tennis court

• Brick Hall bike giveaway, 2 p.m., tennis court

• Chris Hawkey Band, 8:30 p.m., Main Street stage

 

Sunday

• Community church service, 9 a.m., Methodist Church
