Karen Lana Hubbard, 70, of Wells died Monday, June 16, 2014, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Wells. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Rev. Paul Woolverton will officiate. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Karen Lana Hubbard was born May 24, 1944, the daughter of LaVerne and Carmen (Hamson) Johnson in rural Wells. She attended Wells-Easton High School.
On June 10, 1966, she was united in marriage to John P. Hubbard in Wells. Karen owned and operated several businesses in Wells throughout the years, including The Country Heart. She was also a hairdresser and decorator. She loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed mowing grass, trivia, reading, crossword puzzles and being with her very special friends. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Wells.
Karen is survived by four children, Amy (husband, Tom) Jones, John Hubbard and Nick (wife, Amber) Hubbard, all of Wells, and Pat (wife, Lorri) Beatty of Brooklyn, Iowa; four grandchildren, Caleb and Kristen Hubbard of Wells and Samantha (Meg) and Ian Beatty of Brooklyn; great-grandchild, Aaliyah Beatty; brother, Jeff (wife, Carleen) Johnson of Owatonna; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; five aunts and one uncle; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John P. Hubbard, in 2007.
