A memorial gathering for Mike J. Daleiden, 65, of Satellite Beach, Fla., formerly of Fairmont, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. July 12 at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. There will be a service of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. July 12 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Mike passed away peacefully at his home in Florida on June 18, 2014, after a protracted courageous battle with cancer.

Michael John Daleiden was born April 29, 1949, in Albert Lea, the son of Herbert and Mary Daleiden. Mike graduated from Albert Lea High School. He also graduated from Mankato State University with a bachelors degree in business.

In 1970 he married Sue Paulis and had two sons together and were married for 22 years. While living in Fairmont, Mike and Sue co-owned and operated Fairmont Flowers. Then Mike was a small business management instructor. He lived in Columbus, Ohio, the Chicago area and then settled in Florida.

Mike enjoyed golf, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for love of life, his great smile and sense of humor.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Chris Daleiden and his wife, Dr. Amy Daleiden, and their son, Finn, of Minneapolis, and Scott Daleiden of Fairmont; brother, Dr. Jim Daleiden, of Melbourne, Fla.; sister, Mary Catherine Bradley, and her husband, Harry, of Chicago; other relatives and many friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mary Daleiden.
