MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis couple has created a heartwarming stop-motion video in which a teddy bear awaits the birth of their son and then celebrates when the boy arrives.

The 90-second video has been viewed more than 43,000 times on YouTube. Those are modest numbers by Internet standards, but the parents say the point wasn’t to create a viral sensation.

“We made it just for Henry,” Chris Knutson said, referring to his newborn son. “I was a little nervous about posting it at all. But I couldn’t help it because I was pretty proud of it and wanted others to see it. Surprisingly, people like it.”

It shows a teddy bear celebrating after it sees the positive result of a home pregnancy test. It dances after watching the crib being assembled, and it watches through the window as Chris and Aimee Knutson bring Henry home.

The video closes with Henry being placed in the crib next to the bear. The toy walks over and snuggles with its new friend.

Chris Knutson said the project took 60 to 80 hours to complete.

“The bear could totally be a ‘Toy Story’ character,” he said. “We were probably subconsciously inspired by that. We both love a lot of the Pixar stuff.”
