St. John’s Auxiliary
St. John’s Auxiliary met at 10:30 a.m. June 16 in St. John’s Chapel. President Caroline Sorenson welcomed everyone and gave devotions.
Pianist Irene Goskeson led in singing “America the Beautiful” and “Children of the Heavenly Father.”
Secretary and treasurer reports were given and approved.
Activities director Shirley Leeman reported there were 848 volunteer hours in May. She also announced upcoming events for July: L.A. Sasse July 1, bus decorating and the parade July 3, Tim the Music Man July 8, Richie Z July 11, Johnny Bird July 18, Shinefest Tractor Parade July 19, Kent larsen July 25 and regular monthly events.
President Caroline Sorenson read the names of residents celebrating June birthdays and the birthday song was sung.
Churches thanked for serving Sunday coffee were Grace Lutheran and Women’s Veterans of Freeborn County.
The program was provided by Bev Jackson-Cotter, storyteller. She related personal stories. She also wants everyone to tell their stories to the next generations.
The Lord’s Prayer was said and the meeting was adjourned.
