MASON CITY — Danielle Elizabeth “Dana” Naumann, Mason City’s city assessor, was arrested early Friday morning and charged with serious domestic assault.
Naumann, 38, was being held in the jail for Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, awaiting an appearance before a magistrate judge.
Mason City Police Chief Mike Lashbrook said dispatchers received a call from a man shortly after 1:30 a.m. reporting a disturbance at 1209 15th St. S.E. As officers went to the scene, Naumann also reportedly called police.
Lashbrook said investigating officers determined Naumann was the “primary aggressor” in the disturbance and arrested her. Serious domestic assault is a serious misdemeanor.
No injuries required hospital treatment.
Naumann has been Mason City’s city assessor since November 2012. Prior to that she was Franklin County assessor for nine years and had previous experience in the Cerro Gordo County Assessor’s Office.
