Rochester police issues conduct report

A Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputy on paid leave since the end of May should be allowed to return to work, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Rochester police completed a personnel investigation into alleged misconduct by deputy Dale Glazier and found that the alleged complaint about Glazier’s off-duty conduct was not sustained.

Discipline will not be warranted, a news release stated.

Freeborn County leaders announced the results of the personnel investigation on Thursday, about two weeks after the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office announced it declined to pursue criminal charges.

Glazier, 50, is running against incumbent Sheriff Bob Kindler and fellow deputy Kurt Freitag in the upcoming election. He was placed on paid leave only a few hours after he filed for office.

Though rumors abounded, the nature of the alleged misconduct has not been released to the public. Glazier could not be reached for comment.

Freeborn County officials have not yet received a copy of the final report. The release stated more information would be available at a later date.
