LAKE MILLS — A 26-year-old Mason City woman died Sunday morning after a crash in rural Worth County.
Erika Sue Schneckloth was reportedly driving westbound on Iowa Highway 9 in a 2002 Ford Explorer shortly after 3 a.m., when she failed to negotiate a curve at 360th Street southeast of Lake Mills, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
She reportedly went off the roadway to the right, overcorrected and rolled multiple times, the report stated.
She was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
The crash remains under investigation. The initial report did not indicate if alcohol was a factor. Schneckloth was wearing her seat belt.
The Fertile and Hanlontown emergency first responders and firefighters, Forest City paramedics and deputies with the Worth County and Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s offices assisted.
