How long have you been involved with the agency and how did you get started volunteering?  

My friend, Linda Stigney, who is on The Arc Board of Directors, invited me to join four years ago.  I brought my karaoke machine to a Saturday night activity, and everyone had a blast. I’ve led quite a few karaoke nights ever since.   I also help fold and assemble newsletters, volunteer for fundraisers and send out monthly birthday cards.   I enjoy making cupcakes, and they are always a hit when I bring them for refreshments for special events.

 

What is the agency’s impact in our community?

By providing opportunities for people with all abilities to do things in the community, we see that everyone can contribute something or somehow in their own way.  We learn to be more accepting of others.

Come down and see what The Arc is all about.  Think about what you do best and how you can use your talents to help others.
