2 arrested for DWI
Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies arrested Kimberly A. Sparkman, 41, for driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor open bottle violation, careless driving and gross misdemeanor obstructing justice after a traffic stop at 10:31 p.m. Friday on Interstate 90 near the Bridge Avenue exit.
Albert Lea police arrested Ashta Ashante Kane, 34, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after one vehicle reportedly backed into another at 2:05 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of West Clark Street and Euclid Avenue. Todd Earle Hendricks, 35, was also arrested on a probation violation.
2 arrested for domestic assault
Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jason James Dunlop, 32, on misdemeanor domestic assault at 6:41 a.m. Sunday at 66633 160th St.
Albert Lea police arrested Misty Jo Dugstad, 33, at 12:16 a.m. Wednesday for domestic assault at 914 St. Peter Ave.
Thefts reported
An American flag was reported stolen at 12:54 p.m. Sunday from 470 First Ave. S.W. in Glenville.
A tailgate was reported taken off a truck parked at the fairgrounds at 11:50 p.m. Saturday at the Freeborn County Fair, 1105 Bridge Ave.
A vehicle was reported broken into at 6:56 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Marie Avenue and Glenn Road, in Albert Lea.
Keys and a cellphone were reported stolen at 10:12 p.m. at the skate park, 300 Johnson St., in Albert Lea.
Suspicious man reported
Albert Lea police received a report at 4:02 p.m. Friday of a suspicious man who reportedly drove by a house at 212 E. Third St. and started taking photos or video of children running through a sprinkler.
Man arrested on warrant
Police arrested Dhan Kuon Gatkek, 42, on a local warrant at 12:14 a.m. Saturday at 133 W. William St., Albert Lea.
Forged check reported
A forged check was reported at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday at Security Bank Minnesota, 437 Bridge Ave.
Hit-and-run reported
A hit-and-run crash was reported at the Freeborn County Fair at 10:43 p.m. Saturday. The car that was hit was a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office squad car.
A mailbox was reported hit by a gray Ford F250 with yellow construction lights on the top at 7:28 p.m. Sunday at 924 Bridge Ave., Albert Lea.
Albert Lea police cited Fallon Frances Nelson, 19, for leaving the scene of an accident after a reported hit-and-run crash at 5:59 p.m. Wednesday at 121 Elizabeth Ave., Albert Lea.
1 cited for underage drinking
Albert Lea police cited Jeremiah Okany Nalaye, 19, for underage drinking at 12:17 a.m. Sunday near the instruction of Bridge Avenue and Ruble Avenue in Albert Lea.
