Last 2 years had many highlights

In all my years of living in Minnesota, I cannot remember more productive legislative sessions than the last two sessions. What was accomplished?
• A long-needed raise in the minimum wage. After no raises for many years, hardworking Minnesotans, sometimes working two or three jobs, will get a well-deserved raise. This is good for low-wage workers, and it is good for Albert Lea’s economy. Thank you, Democrats. And thank you, Shannon Savick!
• Minnesota schools got the money they needed to educate our students. After years of cuts under Republican rule, Albert Lea and Minnesota schools have increased funding and money for all-day kindergarten. Minnesota is on its way to becoming an educational leader again. Thank you, Democrats. And thank you, Shannon Savick!
• Money for local projects. The citizens of Albert Lea talked about the dredging of Fountain Lake for many years, and now this will become a reality. Thank you, Democrats. Thank you, Shannon Savick!
• Budget balanced. The budget was balanced by raising taxes on the rich. There were no cuts to the young, old or the vulnerable, and no games and no shut downs. And thank you, Democrats. Thank you, Rep. Shannon Savick.
I think this is a good start. I don’t want to go back to the republican years of cuts of needed programs, shut downs and political games. So please support Rep. Shannon Savick and Governor Mark Dayton. They need your vote so that they can continue this good governance.
