NORTHFIELD — Minneapolis-area police have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery that left a man lying in the road with a gunshot wound.
Twenty-seven year-old Shane Hejl of Northfield was charged Thursday with attempted murder, aggravated robbery and three counts of assault.
Police said they found a man lying in a street early Tuesday morning. He told them a man approached him and demanded everything he had before shooting him in the stomach.
Police said he was in stable but serious condition at a local hospital Thursday night.
Hejl’s girlfriend told police he told her he accidently shot someone early Tuesday. She said he threw bullets out their van’s window.
Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney. Police say they’re still investigating.
