The Southeastern Minnesota Chamber Orchestra will begin rehearsals for its 2014-15 season at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7 in the Albert Lea High School band room. The orchestra will hold regular rehearsals from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Sunday.
The orchestra will perform three concerts this year with the first being at 3 p.m. Oct. 12.
Season tickets will be available in early September from orchestra members. Tickets will also be available at the door for each concert.
The Southern Minnesota Chamber Orchestra is seeking some additional musicians and would welcome anyone interested to contact Music Director Brock Besse at 507-318-0801 or bbesse@charter.net. The following instruments are needed at this time: clarinet II, bass clarinet, bassoon II, bass trombone, violin I, violin II, viola, cello and bass. Interested individuals are invited to play for all concerts of the season, but do not need to commit to the full season until they feel comfortable playing with the ensemble. Even if you haven’t played your instrument for a few years, bring it out, play some scales and get back into the joy of playing with an orchestra.
