Northwood boy wins pedal pull

Collin Houg of Northwood stands with a trophy for taking first place at the 25th annual State Pedal Pull Championship Sept. 6 in the boys' 6-year-old class at the Coliseum in Marshalltown, Iowa. Over 9,000 girls and boys participated from over 200 sanctioned pedal pulls across Iowa. Houg qualified for the state pull by placing first in the 6-year-old class at Northwood's Fourth of July celebration. He is eligible to compete at the National Pedal Pull Saturday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.  Houg's parents are Andy and Rebecca Houg of Northwood. His grandparents are Paul and Linda Lynne of Hartland and Herb and Patricia Houg of Glenville. — Provided
