I believe that we need elected officials who are committed to investing in high quality care for our seniors. They should also support providing good wages for the men and women who care for our seniors. Minnesota’s seniors, who built a better life for all of us, deserve the best.

State Rep. Shannon Savick is the strongest candidate in this year’s election to make sure our seniors are able to live with dignity. She approved the first funding increase for Minnesota’s nursing homes and long-term caregivers in years. It’s a major step in the right direction when you consider how Republicans in the past slashed support for seniors and neglected the financial well being of nursing home employees and caregivers.

Rep. Savick’s record shows that she is a sure bet to build on the progress we’ve made in improving the lives of our seniors over the past two years — especially at local nursing homes like St. John’s Lutheran Community and Good Samaritan Society. We simply cannot afford to take a chance on a candidate like Peggy Bennett, who is beholden to a party that has a history of neglecting Minnesota’s seniors.
