In a match with no games decided by more than five points, the Albert Lea volleyball team outlasted Red Wing 3-2 on Tuesday at home.

“It was nice to see our team fight through the match,” said Albert Lea coach Lisa Deyak. “Our strength tonight was our determination. I’m very proud of the girls for their composure.”

Game scores were 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 21-25 and 15-13.

Julia Deyak led Albert Lea with 33 assists. She also scored the game-winning point with an ace serve to boost the Tigers in Game 1.

Camryn Keyeski led the back row with 20 digs, while Kass Jansen added 11.

Kassi Hardies, Hope Landsman and Taylor Willis were a force at the net, combining with 18 kills and nine blocks.

Next, Albert Lea (3-7 overall, 2-4 Big Nine Conference) will play at 7:15 p.m. at Faribault (7-5 overall, 4-1 Big Nine Conference).
