BLOOMING PRAIRIE — A little more than a year after closing, the Blooming Prairie clinic is officially set to reopen.
The Mayo Clinic medical centers in Austin and Owatonna have joined forces to reopen the clinic on Sept. 16.
Dawn Ritter, a certified nurse practitioner in Owatonna’s Family Medicine Department, will provide care at the clinic. She is from the Blooming Prairie area.
“I am excited and proud to have the opportunity to visit with people at the Blooming Prairie clinic,” Ritter said in a press release. “Many staff in Owatonna and Austin have been instrumental in making the reopening happen. I will work very hard to support this community.”
The clinic closed in August 2013 after a nurse practitioner resigned. It will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday, while the pharmacy will remain open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We are very excited to be able to collaborate between the Owatonna and Austin campuses to reopen the Blooming Prairie clinic,” said Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna and Faribault CEO Brian Bunkers in a press release. “We have been able to create a new streamlined model of care that will meet the health care needs of patients locally in the Blooming Prairie area. It is important in today’s changing health care environment that we remain flexible and innovative as we work together to keep patients healthy and well in the future.”
