AUSTIN — The Spam Museum will close this week.

The Spam Museum is set to close its 1101 N. Main St. location on Sunday in advance of a relocation to downtown Austin.

Hormel Foods Corp. announced the museum’s relocation in May. The new museum will open at what will soon become Third Avenue Northeast on the east side of Main Street North.

Hormel representatives say the new museum will open in spring 2016. The old building may be used for more office space for Hormel’s corporate south office.
