ST. PAUL — Federal and local authorities have arrested 23 people in Ramsey County in an annual crackdown on domestic violence suspects.
Sheriff Matt Bostrom said Wednesday that 52 officers helped serve 128 warrants in the daylong sweep across the St. Paul area. He said those numbers are up from last year, when 49 officers served 92 warrants and made 12 arrests.
He said suspects often turn themselves in after crackdowns because they know charges “won’t go away.”
Sgt. Jesse Mollner said his team searched for about 20 people and arrested two. The others no longer lived at the listed address or weren’t there during the sweep. He said the crackdowns often lead to future arrests because officers make contacts when talking with family and friends.
