Thursday I attended a long-term-care forum hosted at Good Samaritan Society. I was extremely disappointed to hear Shannon Savick had come up with an idea for a new income tax.

Savick shared that if elected she would like to create a panel created to address long-term care and her idea to solve the problem — wait for it … surprise! — a new tax. Shannon would like to see a half-cent Minnesota income tax increase to pay for long-term-care needs. We agree a solution is needed, but another new state tax, Shannon?

Hopefully I won’t have to hear more details on this.
