I just finished reading Kurt Freitag’s column in your opinion section of Oct. 3. He was responding to an unsigned web page that claimed work and character flaws.

It is always hard to hear allegations made against you. For example, I was at the forum held at Albert Lea City Hall where candidate Kurt Freitag called Sheriff Bob Kindler, the chief deputy, a detective, three sergeants and the jail administrator all incompetent.

Now I don’t know if that is dirty, but it is disturbing. Name calling has no place in this campaign. You didn’t hear anything from Bob Kindler when many of his campaign signs were spray painted (with black X’s) along Bridge Avenue the early morning of the Fourth of July. He didn’t say that Kurt Freitag and his supporters are playing “dirty.” He wouldn’t do that. The last thing Kurt Freitag says in his letter is: “His campaign slogan is ‘Because Integrity Matters’ he shows that it clearly does not.”

Is Freitag saying that the website is Bob’s or that he somehow is tied to it? That’s what he wants you to think! I do think that is dirty.
