The annual Greenwood dinner will be Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. and continues until all attending have been served. Carryout dinners will be available. Tickets are $7 for adults, children 6 to 10 are $3 and children 5 and under are free.
The Greenwood Club is a group of interested women who have been putting on the dinners to help pay the cemetery caretakers each year since 1903.
One project of the group is the cemetery flags and poles. They may be purchased in memory of a loved one for $200. The flags and poles may be purchased at any time and they will be installed in the spring.
You may send your donation to the Greenwood Club, Box 84, Glenville, MN 56036. Donations and memorials may also be given when you come to the dinner.
The group would appreciate anyone who would like to help with the dinner. Call any of the officers to volunteer. The kitchen chairwoman is Virginia Nagel and the dining room chairwoman is Arlene Vanek. The officers are president Sylvia Kycek, vice president Virginia Nagel, secretary Debby Freeman and treasurer Marina Gillard.
