MINNEAPOLIS — A St. Paul man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a drunken driving crash in Minneapolis that killed a Wisconsin man.
A judge handed down the punishment to 35-year-old Yia Her on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty on Monday to fleeing police and killing one person and injuring another.
A Minnesota trooper had pulled Her over in downtown Minneapolis in September 2013 when Her took off. Her collided with another car, killing the 20-year-old driver, Brody Sotona of Spring Valley, Wis., and seriously injuring his passenger, Connor Macklin of Stillwater.
Her admitted in court Monday that he was drunk when he fled state troopers.
