Mankato dept. is investigating

WELLS — The Wells City Council this coming Monday is slated to hear more information regarding an investigation into a police officer accused of misconduct.

Officer Steve Seipp has been on paid administrative leave since Aug. 22, according to Wells City Administrator Robin Leslie.

Leslie declined to comment on the nature of the allegation but noted the Mankato Police Department has been investigating.

The council likely will discuss the matter in a closed session unless Seipp requests the meeting be opened. If the council votes to take disciplinary action against Seipp, the vote will then be sent to the police union.

Seipp declined to comment when contacted Monday afternoon.
