Memorial services for Barbara S. Chrz, 94, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Kassara will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation

Barbara died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Community.

Barbara Sylvia Chrz was born July 31, 1920, the daughter of Oliver and Nellie (Stene) Honsey on the family farm in Lake Mills. She was baptized and confirmed at Lime Creek Synod Lutheran Church. Barbara attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1939.

She was united in marriage to Woodrow Chrz on May 2, 1942, at Lime Creek Parsonage. The couple lived in Lake Mills and then moved to Albert Lea. Barbara worked for Ma’s Café and several other retail stores in Albert Lea. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, the fishing trips that she and Woody took to northern Minnesota, spending the winter months in Arizona, her European travels and reading. Barbara was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and active in the church circles.

Barbara is survived by her son, Bruce, and wife, June Chrz, of Albert Lea; granddaughter, Tiffany Chrz, of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren Damian Montes and Lukas Severson; brother, Rudolph Honsey, of Mankato; sister-in-law, Dorothy Honsey, of Lake Mills; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woody; brothers Conrad and Joseph; and sisters Thelma and Naomi.
