The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies Union has conducted a vote as to whether to endorse a sheriff’s candidate for the Nov. 4 general election. It has been determined by a clear majority that the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies Union will officially endorse deputy Kurt Freitag in the general election on Nov. 4 for the position of sheriff. The vote was conducted over text messages and no polling laws were violated.

The Patrol Deputies Union believes that deputy Freitag is an exceptional deputy and would make an excellent leader of this department.

Over the past several weeks there have been several calls from members of this community to hear the opinions of the union in regard to this election. Our response to the community would be to encourage everyone to vote on Nov. 4, and vote Freitag for sheriff.
