Woman injured in crash

A 43-year-old Bricelyn woman was injured Tuesday evening after a crash on Bridge Avenue near Hy-Vee.

Police stated David Hernes, 78, of Albert Lea was driving a Chrysler Town & Country van when he turned south out of the Hy-Vee parking lot into the path of a 2006 Pontiac, driven by Marcelino Peña, 48, of Wells.

Police stated Peña’s passenger, Marina Reyes, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

The crash took place at 6:56 p.m.

 

Semi on fire on I-35

A semi was reported on fire at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 35 at the southernmost Albert Lea exit. No other information was available.

Albert Lea police cited Cheyenne Thomas Fuller, 18, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 3:48 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West William Street.
