HIBBING — Officials say equipment failure sparked a fire at a foundry in Hibbing. 

Investigators said molten steel poured out of a furnace and spattered, causing spot fires at Northern Foundry Sunday night.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming out of a large overhead door of the main building. A facility supervisor said the fire may delay production by one to five days.
