Veterans give even more

The American Legion Post 264 and its Legion Auxiliary in Glenville, with assistance from the orthopedic department at Mayo Clinic Health System of Albert Lea and from the American Legion’s 1st District of the Department of Minnesota, donated gifts to the families of military veterans in need during the Christmas season. The gifts varied depending on the families. Some included gift cards for groceries and heating bills, while others were toys for children, and others were clothes and household items. Members of the post dropped off the items Monday at the Veterans Services office at the Freeborn County Courthouse. From left are Ken and Cindy Nelson, Dennis and Sandy Fredrickson and Arlene Hajek — all representing the post and the auxiliary — and Irene Anderson and Ron Reule with Freeborn County Veterans Services. – Tim Engstrom/Albert Lea Tribune
