2 arrested for DWI

Albert Lea police arrested Emily Ann Herfendal, 27, for third-degree driving while intoxicated at 11:01 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of South Broadway and West Ninth Street.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Chet Peter Ross, 53, for third-degree driving while intoxicated after receiving a report that a person was passed out in a car at 12:13 p.m. Friday at 2221 E. Main St.

Items reported stolen

A pistol was reported missing at 12:43 p.m. Jan. 26 from 304 Park St. in Freeborn.

Painkillers, money and a cellphone were reported missing at 8:01 a.m. Jan. 26 from 1221 Madison Ave.

A cellphone was reported stolen at 4:41 p.m. Jan. 26 from an office at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, 404 Fountain St.

 

1 cited for marijuana

A juvenile was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 11:37 a.m. Jan. 26 at Albert Lea High School, 2000 Tiger Lane.

 

2 cited for drug paraphernalia

Albert Lea police cited Rene Cardona Jr., 18, and Evan Mitchell Esse, 23, for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 2 a.m. Friday on the Front Street extension.

 

Houses broken into

A house was reported broken into at 2:36 p.m. Saturday at 22856 775th Ave. A pickup and other property was damaged.

A house was reported broken into at 5:23 p.m. Jan. 27 at 76282 135th St., Glenville.

 

Garage door damaged

A garage door was reported smashed in at 7:40 p.m. Friday at 89114 170th St.

 

Man arrested for domestic assault

Albert Lea police arrested Tommy Melendez, 22, for felony domestic assault at 1:42 p.m. Jan. 27 at 108 McArthur Drive.

 

Car broken into

A car was reported rummaged through at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at 821 Minnesota Ave.

 

SUV window broken out

The back window of a Chevy Tahoe was reported broken out at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday at 704 Johnson St.

 

Man cited for theft

Albert Lea police cited Vaclav Pekrt, 63, for theft of a watch at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.
