According to a press release, the brewing company brews something special for its anniversary each year. Special brews for this year’s celebration include a coffee stout on cask served by gravity from the bar, as well as a Scotch ale and a Belgian strong dark ale. All three are brewed by Worth Brewing Co.

Irish stew will be on Saturday’s menu all day, along with complimentary cupcakes.

Peter Ausenhus and his wife, Margaret Bishop, have owned the brewery since the beginning. Ausenhus has been a home brewer since 1987 and has been brewing beer professionally since 1994. After brewing for Summit Brewing Co. in St. Paul and then moving to the Northwood area, Ausenhus was approached by a local bar to be hired as a brewer. When plans fell through and the bar eventually closed, Ausenhus and Bishop decided to start their own brewery.

“We opened on March 17, 2007, and it’s always been the kickoff to our spring bock season that culminates in our Spring Bock Fest” said brewer and co-owner Peter Ausenhus.

The brewery’s Spring Bock Fest will be April 25.
