Lodge No. 44 met March 10 at Czech Inn and Retreat. A potluck supper was enjoyed by all. The meeting began at 6:50 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Spring had definitely arrived as 27 members were present.
The annual pancake breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to noon today at the Glenville American Legion. There will also be a bake sale.
The YELL! Group will help at the breakfast with waiting on tables and baking items for the sale. The breakfast will be a freewill donation and will feature scrambled eggs, sausage links, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. The pancake mix was donated by the Glenville Fire Department.
At the March meeting, the YELL! group made 30 handmade sunshine cards and sent them to members who are unable to attend meetings in hopes of brightening their day.
Lodge No. 44 was proud to hear they were a recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award. A cake was served to celebrate the accomplishment. Those who know of anyone who would like to join their YELL! group should let them know.
In addition to the pancake breakfast, the YELL! group plans on serving cake and coffee Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Community. The donations will be used to buy canned items for the local food shelf as March is Food Share Month. The lodge donated money to the YELL! Group for activities which they have planned for the year.
There was a lengthy conversation about the Czech Fest the lodge is hosting in September. The entertainment this year will be Molly B. They are very excited to have her see the lodge. It will cost $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, a bake sale and much more. The Czech Fest will be from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 with Molly B. performing from 1 to 5 p.m. All proceeds from the Czech Fest will be put towards the upkeep of Brick Hall.
The meeting ended at 8:15 p.m. with two door prize winners, Jerry Svoboda and Don Viktora. Their next meeting will be April 14 at Brick Hall. All are welcome to attend. Potluck starts at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting to follow.
