The Taste of Heritage committee is busy working on this year’s festival, which will be from 1 to 3 p.m. May 2 at Northbridge Mall, and is looking for exhibitors interested in sharing the story of their ancestry with the community.

The Taste of Heritage festival is a multi-cultural event designed to celebrate the varied heritage of community members, past and present. The festival is at the Northbridge Mall with displays telling the story of the heritage of the exhibitor. Some of the displays include samples of food from the region. The festival also includes a children’s area with many craft activities. Entertainment in the past has included Aztec dancers, Czech dancers, Karen dancers, a Cuban soloist, a Mexican soloist and a mariachi band. Singers from the elementary school also perform every year. The festival has been in existence for five years and has been heavily attended each year, according to a press release.

People interested in being exhibitors can contact Susie Petersen of the Albert Lea Convention & Visitors Bureau at 507-373-2316.
