Sylvia Meuser, 1949-2015

Funeral services for Sylvia S. Meuser, 65, of Albert Lea will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.The Rev. Tom Biatek will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Sylvia died Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Sylvia Sue Meuser was born Nov. 5, 1949, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Raymond and Iva Legreid. Her mother died in childbirth and Sylvia was adopted by Arthur and Edna Hazel Meuser. She grew up here and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1968. Sylvia went to cosmetology school in Mason City and worked as a beautician. She later went to school in Austin for graphic arts and worked in Austin in that field. Sylvia then entered the home health business and was the owner of Morning Star Home Health Care. She was a member of United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, going camping and animals, especially her pet dogs.
Survivors include her sister, Bernadine “Bunny” Kuyper; foster brother, Ralph Conrad (Eleanor) Wangen; foster sister, Joan Wittmer; sister-in-law, Phyllis Nielsen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ardith (Gordon) Knudtson; brothers Kendall (Alice) Meuser and Darrell Meuser; brothers-in-law Lyle Kuyper and Leslie Wittmer; special cousin, Diana Schmidt; and other cousins.
