With a 7-0 sweep Tuesday at Faribault, the Albert Lea boys’ tennis team broke .500, according to a press release.
The Tigers (3-2 overall, 2-2 Big Nine) dominated the Falcons in each match.
Taylor Herfindahl led Albert Lea with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and Matt Carlson followed with a pair of 6-2 wins at No. 2.
The Tigers’ No. 1 doubles team, Garrett Matz and Foster Otten, won 6-2, 6-0, and Andy Woitas and Austin Dulitz crushed their competition 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
“We were definitely the stronger and more experienced team on the courts today,” said Albert Lea coach Tom Dyrdal. “It was fun to get our second Big Nine win of the season. We had strong and consistent play from both singles and doubles sides of the lineup.”
Next, Albert Lea will host Rochester Century at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
