The Albert Lea High School jazz bands will present their annual concert Friday in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, according to a press release. The performance will be at 7 p.m. in the high school commons and there is no admission fee. Root beer floats will be served and there will be an open area for dancing. The groups will play some jazz standards along with other Latin, rock and swing tunes.
On Sunday the jazz band will perform at Green Mill as part of a fundraiser for the band program. They will perform two sets of music between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Flyers are available from band students and parents that will allow 20 percent of attendees’ bills to be donated back to the band program. The flyers will be accepted all day for dine-in only.
