Culvert work near shoulders begins April 20

Two-way, two-lane traffic restrictions will be in place until November, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Beginning April 20, crews will work off the shoulders for culvert work, and motorists are advised to use caution wherever they see orange. The prep work for the I-90 construction was completed late last year.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90 from Highway 22 in Faribault County to Minnesota Highway 109 in Freeborn County will be resurfaced. The project includes an unbonded concrete overlay and lighting.

A MnDOT press release said the project will improve the safety and smoothness of I-90 and preserve the system for several years into the future.

Ulland Brothers Inc. is the contractor on the $14.1 million project. Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive with caution.
